This course examines the governance foundations that make cybersecurity audit assurance credible — from the Three Lines model and audit charter independence to the interfaces auditors maintain with the board, CISO, legal, and privacy functions. You will also explore how organizations use security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST SP 800-53, and SOC 2, along with common control sets and third-party reliance, to build defensible, cross-framework assurance programs. PLEASE NOTE: Not accepted for Enrolled Agents. This course material is included in #8640, Cybersecurity Auditing: Principles, Practices, and Frameworks, and therefore we recommend that you should not take both courses in the same CPE reporting period. All course material provided. Prerequisite: Understanding of cybersecurity terminology and auditing techniques. Course level: Intermediate.
PLEASE NOTE: CPE credit measurement is based on NASBA Registry and QAS guidelines of one credit for every 50 minutes.
