DO PES COURSES QUALIFY FOR CPE IN THE STATE OF NORTH DAKOTA? YES!

North Dakota does not pre-approve continuing education programs or sponsors and they DO NOT have sponsorship agreements. They will accept courses from NASBA sponsors. Professional Education Services, LP (PES) is registered with NASBA (#103592) on the National Registry of CPE sponsors and has issued credits in the state of North Dakota without any problems.

LICENSE RENEWAL INFORMATION:

  • 120 hours / 3 years - (this is a rolling 3 year period, meaning that the CPA reports annually on June 30th the CPE earned that year, however they must have completed a total of 120 hours of cpe in the immediate preceding three year period)
  • Minimum of 20 hours / year
  • 6 hours of ethics / 3 year rolling period. Any PES GENERAL ethics courses can fulfill this requirement.

LICENSE EXPIRATION INFORMATION:

  • 7/1 to 6/30 annually.

CPE COMPLETION DUE BY:

  • CPE must be completed and reported by June 30th of each year.

SELF STUDY CREDIT HOURS:

Credits granted for PES courses are based on the AICPA and NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy) statement of standards which grant 1 CPE credit for every 50-minutes of study time. North Dakota recognizes the same credit measurement.

MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE SELF STUDY CREDITS: 100%
ACCEPTABLE AREAS OF STUDY:

Regulations state: "the overriding consideration in determining if a specific program qualifies... is if it is a formal program of learning which contributes directly to a licensee's professional competence, and meet the states specifications."

NASBA FIELD OF STUDY SYNOPSIS: North Dakota does not specific "fields of study"; therefore all the NASBA fields of study noted on PES certificates of completion can be reported for credit in ND.
