DO PES COURSES QUALIFY FOR CPE IN THE STATE OF HAWAII? YES!

The board requires that sponsors register with the state board or NASBA. PES is registered with the state board (PES sponsor ID number for Hawaii is 94028). In addition, Professional Education Services, LP (PES) is registered with NASBA (#103592) on the National Registry of CPE sponsors and has issued credits in the state of Hawaii without any problems.

LICENSE RENEWAL INFORMATION:

  • 80 hours of CPE every 2 years
  • 20 hour minimum per year
  • 4 hours of CPE in ethics or professional conduct each renewal period. PES has developed a specific Hawaii ethics course4110: Ethics and Professional Conduct for Hawaii CPAs to fulfill this requirement. In addition, CPAs may also take any of our general ethics courses to fulfill this requirement.

LICENSE EXPIRATION INFORMATION:

  • Registrants shall register biennially on 12/31/odd years

CPE COMPLETION DUE BY:

  • 12/31/odd years

SELF STUDY CREDIT HOURS:

Credits granted for PES courses are based on the AICPA and NASBA (National Association of State Boards of Accountancy) statement of standards which grant 1 CPE credit for every 50-minutes of study time. Hawaii recognizes the same credit measurement.

MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE SELF STUDY CREDITS: 100%
ACCEPTABLE AREAS OF STUDY:

Hawaii Regulation States: "overriding consideration in determining whether or not a specific program qualifies as acceptable continuing education is whether the program is a formal program of learning which will contribute directly to the professional competence of a licensee in public practice. Each licensee shall determine the course of study to be pursued by the licensee..."

Acceptable Areas include: Accounting; Auditing; Administrative practice; Social environment of business; Ethics or professional conduct; Business law; Business management and organization; Finance; Business valuation; Insurance; Management advisory services; Marketing; Behavioral ethics; Communications; Personal development; Personnel / human relations; Computer science; Economics: Mathematics; Production; Financial planning; Statistics; and Taxes

NASBA FIELD OF STUDY SYNOPSIS: The fields of study specifically listed by the Board can all be equated to a NASBA field of study. Therefore all fields of study noted on PES certificates of completion can be reported on the Hawaii CPE renewal form.
